Registration Metrics
Overview
Since there is rarely if ever a "Gold Standard" to evaluate image registration results, no metric alone is sufficient to evaluate the performance of a nonrigid registration algorithm. However, using information from many different diverse metrics will provide a good indication of the non-rigid image registration performance. The metrics used are the following (1) squared intensity error, (2) relative overlap, (3) inverse consistency error, (4) transitivity error.
